The proposal of starting a chit fund company came from Mr. K.P. Mathew, a reputed financial advisor with many years of experience in chit funds business. Along with the assistance of a well known industrialist Mr. Krishnamurthy, and a young administrator Mr. George Mathew; they incorporated a new chit fund company which came to be known as “Popular Chits and Credits (Pvt) Ltd.” in March 1984.

Mr. K. P. Mathew took over as the Managing Director of the Company in 1986. He has to his credit more than 40 years of experience as Director with Madras Chit Funds (P) Ltd. Under his able guidance and exemplary business acumen the company has grown as one of the trusted financial organizations in the city.

As per the Department of Company Affairs regulation amendment in 1985, the name of the company was later changed to “Popular Chits (India) Pvt. Ltd.” in November, 2003.

Currently, we are conducting many groups and benefiting to thousands of clients.

We are one of the pioneers in automation based chit fund accounting system, developed and serviced by M/s. Polymath Software Technologies since 1996. It is a trusted and user-friendly software system for maintaining accounts and records.

During the last 38 years of business the company maintained its credibility among the customers throughout. Presently the affairs of the company are smoothly managed under the guidance of the veteran Mr. K. P. Mathew and Mr. James Thomas Modiyil, who are currently directing the company affairs.

We have no branch or business operation centers other than the Registered Office in Saibaba Colony.
